Courses will be offered provided a sufficient number of currently enrolled customers have pre-registered their interest. Final registration for courses will be conducted through a work2future training specialist.

Course Description: The Home Health Aide course is a 40 hour program which includes clinical practicum experience, taught in conjunction with the CNA course. Graduates of the program will receive a Home Health Aide license in addition to their CNA license. It will allow them to find jobs in Nursing/Home Health registries that will dispatch them to patients’ homes or other skilled nursing facilities. A person must be a CNA in order to obtain their HHA license. Completion of this course will qualify students for the State (California) certification as a Home Health Aide. Students receiving the certificate will have entry skills as a Home Health Aide in the home setting. This program discusses Introduction of Aides and agency role, interpretation of medical and social needs of the client, personal cares services, nutrition, cleaning and care task in the home. No State exam.

  • Theoretical: 20 hours
  • Clinical and skills lab: 20 hours; held at  healthcare facility
